No. Grid trading is a prohibited practice on every Instant Funding account because it lets exposure build automatically instead of through managed, deliberate risk-taking.
What is Grid Trading?
Opening multiple layered positions at set price intervals to build exposure automatically. This includes both traditional grid trading, where orders are placed above and below the current set price, and one-directional grid trading, where multiple positions are continuously layered in the same direction (i.e. order book spamming). Grid-style behaviour is restricted because it can create uncontrolled risk across the account.
The two forms we look for
- Traditional grid trading — placing orders both above and below the current set price.
- One-directional grid trading — continuously opening multiple positions layered in the same direction (i.e. order book spamming).
Why it’s restricted
Because the position sizing isn’t tied to a genuine read on the market, layering orders at fixed intervals can create uncontrolled risk across the account. That undermines fair evaluation and a level playing field for every trader, which is why it sits alongside our other prohibited strategies.
Like all prohibited practices, grid trading may result in account termination or profit removal.
