Which events count as “major news,” and how the trading restriction around them works. See Is News Trading allowed? for the full policy.
What counts as a major news event
We classify high-impact (“red folder”) events listed on FX Factory and/or FXStreet as Major News. These typically include events like central bank interest rate decisions, Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP), and CPI inflation releases.
The restriction window
On accounts without the Major News Trading add-on, these events may only be traded outside the designated 8-minute restriction window (4 minutes either side of the release) on the affected instrument.
Disclaimer
The calendars linked above are third-party sources and may not include every high-impact event. If you’re unsure whether an upcoming release counts as Major News, check the calendar directly or contact support before trading around it.
