Everything you need to know about sumsub verification (how to complete kyc) — answered simply, with nothing hidden in the small print.
Allow camera access
To get yourself verified, you need to allow access to your webcam when your browser prompts you. If you have already done this but your camera is still not working, the quick checks below should sort it.
If your browser has blocked the camera
This works the same way in Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari, on both computer and mobile:
- Click or tap the camera, lock or site-settings icon next to the web address.
- Set camera access to Allow (or reset / clear the blocked setting).
- Refresh the page and select Allow when prompted.
The exact icon and wording vary slightly between browsers. On Safari, open Safari settings, go to Websites, then Camera, and allow access for the site.
Check your device settings
Make sure your operating system lets your browser use the camera, then return to your browser and refresh the page.
- Windows
- Settings → Privacy → Camera. Turn on camera access for this device and let apps access your camera.
- macOS
- Apple menu → System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy → Camera. Tick the box next to your browser.
- Android
- Settings → Privacy → Permission manager → Camera. Make sure your browser is allowed.
- iOS
- Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera. Switch on the toggle for your browser.
Other things to try
- Close other apps that may be using your camera, such as Zoom, Skype or FaceTime, then refresh the page. More on this.
- Restart your device if nothing above helps.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies to fix possible page-loading issues.
- Try another device to take your photos if the problem continues.
Passing verification without a camera
Sumsub requests photos of your documents and selfies to make sure you are a real person and the holder of the account and documents, so you need to provide the photos and pass the checks yourself.
