Everything you need to know about IF Starter (previously known as IF1) — answered simply, with nothing hidden in the small print.
The Basics
IF Starter provides instant access to a trading account active for 24 hours from the first trade. Only one trade can be open at a time. Profits are shared at a 90% split, and the account closes automatically when the period ends. If you reach 2% profit and meet the consistency rule, you qualify for payout.

Daily Loss
You may not lose more than 2% of your account value per day.
At 17:00 EST (market rollover), your Daily Loss Limit is recalculated based on the higher of:
- Your Balance (excluding open trades)
- Your Equity (including open trades)
Example: If your Balance is $10,000 and your Equity is $10,500 at 17:00 EST, the Daily Loss Limit for the next day will be 2% of $10,500 = $210.
Static Drawdown
Your maximum loss is limited to 4% of your starting balance.
Example: with $10,000 starting balance, your account can’t drop below $9,600.
Risk per Trade Idea
You may not risk or lose more than 1% of your starting account balance at any time in one trade idea. A trade idea includes all open positions on the same instrument in the same direction (Buy or Sell). Closing and reopening a position in the same direction on the same instrument within 10 minutes is treated as the same trade idea and does not reset the limit. Exceeding this limit will result in a hard breach.
Max Lot Rule
Maximum Lot Rule sets clear limits on total lot sizes per asset class. This helps traders manage risk effectively and ensures consistent, responsible trading.
Lot size limits apply to each asset class. Multiple positions within the same category are counted together when calculating the total volume.
Violating the Maximum Lot Rule results in a full account reset if the account is eligible for a payout.

Payouts
You can request one payout after the 24-hour account period ends, if both of the following apply:
- Your best trade does not exceed 15% of your total profit
Example: If your total profit is $1,000, your best trade must be $150 or less - Your net profit is at least 2% of your starting balance
How to request a withdrawal:
- Make sure your account has passed its 24-hour lifetime.
- Go to your dashboard and choose your preferred withdrawal method.
News Trading
News trading is enabled by default on all IF Starter accounts. You are free to open and close trades around major economic events. However, news straddling or any execution designed to gain an unfair advantage is not permitted.
Holding Rules
You’re allowed to keep trades open overnight. Weekend holding is technically allowed, but positions may close automatically if the market shuts before your 24-hour account period ends. Crypto positions can remain open for the full 24 hours.
Account Limits
You can hold up to three IF Starter accounts of any size.
Scaling
Not available as IF Starter accounts close after 24 hours.
Built-in safety, not surprises
These limits exist to protect your account and keep a level playing field for every trader. Stay within them, manage your risk, and you’ll trade your way to a payout.

Certain strategies and behaviors are not allowed and may result in account termination or profit removal. For detailed definitions and examples, see our Trading Rules.
Consistency Score Bypass
Opening multiple small trades of the same trade idea to bypass consistency score, which will result in a full account reset.
One-Sided Bets
All-or-nothing directional positions that rely on a single outcome instead of managed risk.
Grid Trading
Opening multiple layered positions at set price intervals to build exposure automatically. This includes both traditional grid trading, where orders are placed above and below the current set price, and one-directional grid trading, where multiple positions are continuously layered in the same direction (i.e. order book spamming). Grid-style behaviour is restricted because it can create uncontrolled risk across the account.
High-Frequency Trading
Trades held 60 seconds or less, or an unusually high number of trades per hour.
Copy Trading (unrelated)
Copying trades, signals or management from accounts that aren’t your own. Your own accounts are fine.
Public Third-Party EAs
Public third-party expert advisors are restricted. First-party EAs you build yourself are allowed.
Reverse Trading & Group Hedging
Opposite positions across accounts, or coordinated positions across traders, to eliminate risk.
Group Copying / Account Management
Anyone other than the owner trading the account, or identical-setting group copying. Breaches KYC/AML.
Account Churning (Rolling)
Repeatedly opening and recycling accounts to game resets, refunds or payouts.
Exploiting System Glitches
Profiting from platform bugs, pricing errors or technical faults rather than genuine market moves.
Exploiting Platform Inefficiencies
Gaming latency, feed gaps or execution quirks for an unfair edge.
